Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Supply System Problems on HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 Printers!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Supply system problems on HP OfficeJet Pro 8730 printers can arise due to various reasons, including issues with ink cartridges, printheads, or firmware. Here are the steps to troubleshoot and resolve supply system problems:
Step 1: Print a Print Quality Report
- Load plain white paper.
- On the printer control panel, swipe down, touch Setup, swipe up, touch Reports, and then touch Print Quality Report.
- Evaluate test pattern 2 on the Print Quality Report:
- Good test pattern 2: Clearly printed black, cyan, magenta, and yellow blocks indicate the print system is working properly.
- Problematic test pattern 2: Mixed, streaked, or missing colors indicate issues with the print system. Note which block shows the problem.
Step 2: Clean the Printhead
If the print quality report indicates problems:
- Load plain white paper.
- On the printer control panel, swipe down, touch Setup, swipe up, touch Printer Maintenance, and then touch Clean Printhead.
- Repeat cleaning if color problems persist but you notice improvement after the first cleaning.
Step 3: Replace the Cartridge Associated with the Incorrect Color
If cleaning doesn't resolve the issues shown on the Print Quality Report:
- Replace the cartridge or cartridges associated with the identified problems.
- If the print quality improves, the problem is resolved.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
