I have loose original HP 951 ink cartridges.  I don't know if they are empty or new/partly used.  If I take out my current cartridge and test these loose ones, will the current cartridge still work when I out it back in?  Will removing the current cartridge cause the printer to reject it as now empty?

@kuhdwi, Welcome to HP Support Community!

You can always check by removing the existing ink cartridges and installing the loose ink cartridges. By removing the already installed ink would not cause any issue or the printer will not reject it because it was removed.

When removed just make sure you store it in an air-tight box or a ziplock bag.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
