11/22/20 - Purchased and installed a new HP 62 black ink cartridge in my HP Envy 5540 printer. Printer does not recognize the ink cartridge. I have done the following steps (multiple times):
1. remove/replace ink cartridge
2. cleaned contacts with lint free cloth
3. unplugged printer cord from printer and wall outlet, waited 2-3 mins, held power button for 30 seconds, plugged back into wall outlet then into printer
4. Have inserted the old ink cartridge, which it does recognize
This does not appear to be a hardware issue as the printer works just fine with the old cartridge (it just doesn't have any ink to print with).
Please advise how to resolve or get my money back for the HP cartridge I purchased.
