Hi @Benesch,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 printer is not printing color pages despite your efforts, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the color ink cartridges have sufficient ink. You can check the ink levels through the printer software on your computer or directly on the printer display panel.
- Use Genuine HP Cartridges: Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP or refilled cartridges may not work properly and could lead to printing issues.
- Clean the Printhead: Run a printhead cleaning cycle from the printer software on your computer. This can help remove any dried ink that might be blocking the nozzles. Follow the printer's user manual for instructions on how to perform a printhead cleaning.
- Align the Printhead: Many printers have an option to align the printhead. This ensures that the nozzles are properly aligned, improving print quality. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to align the printhead.
- Update Firmware/Driver: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware and driver updates installed. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest software for your printer model.
- Check Print Settings: Make sure that the print settings on your computer are configured correctly. Ensure that you have selected color printing and that the grayscale or black-and-white option is not selected.
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes a simple restart can resolve printing issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in.
- Reset the Printer: You mentioned that you tried to reset the printer, but it's worth trying again. Follow the steps outlined in your printer's manual for a factory reset or a specific reset procedure.
- Check for Software Conflicts: Ensure that there are no conflicts with other installed printer software or applications that might be affecting the color printing.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
