My printer is printing the address to hyperlinks all over everything else when I print an invoice. Can I turn this off? It will print www.google.com, then on top of everything else prints the whole link on top of my print

Hi @Spiko642
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your printer is adding hyperlink addresses to your printed documents, which is likely caused by a setting in the application or web browser you're printing from, or it could be related to a specific print setting in your printer. Here are a few things you can try to fix this issue:
1. Check the Printing Settings in Your Application
- If you’re printing from a web browser (like Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.), it may be automatically detecting URLs and printing them.
- In this case, try printing the document as a PDF first (using the Save as PDF option), then print the PDF. This can often prevent links from being printed in unwanted places.
- If you are using software like Microsoft Word or Excel, check if the hyperlink formatting is enabled, and try printing the document as plain text or in a different format (e.g., PDF).
2. Disable Hyperlink Printing in Browser (for Web Pages)
If you’re printing from a web page, here’s how you can avoid printing hyperlinks in your browser:
- Google Chrome: Go to Settings > Advanced > Printing, and disable the option to "Print backgrounds" or any setting that might affect printing web links.
- Microsoft Edge: Similar to Chrome, ensure that you are not printing backgrounds or any extra data that might include links.
3. Check for an "Include Hyperlinks" Option
- In some programs, there is an option that lets you include hyperlinks when printing. Ensure this is turned off in the settings.
- For example, in Word:
- Go to File > Print.
- Click on Printer Properties.
- Check if there is a setting related to Hyperlinks or Web Links and disable it.
4. Print as PDF (to Remove Hyperlinks)
Sometimes, converting the document to PDF before printing helps to avoid unwanted formatting like hyperlinks.
- Save the document as a PDF.
- Open the PDF and print it from a PDF reader (like Adobe Acrobat or even the built-in Windows PDF reader).
- Printing a PDF usually removes the formatting issues that might be present in web pages or word processing documents.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
