Hi @Walter89,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with the "printer cube not compatible" message typically referring to an issue with the ink cartridge, For the HP OfficeJet 4630, here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:
1. Check Cartridge Compatibility
Ensure that you are using the correct ink cartridges for the HP OfficeJet 4630. The compatible cartridges are:
- HP 61 Black Ink Cartridge
- HP 61 Tri-color Ink Cartridge
If you're using refilled or third-party cartridges, they might not be recognized by the printer.
2. Reinstall the Cartridge
Sometimes, the cartridge may not be seated properly. To reinstall:
- Turn on the printer.
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Wait until the cartridge carriage stops moving.
- Remove the cartridge and check for any protective tape that might still be on the cartridge.
- Reinsert the cartridge, ensuring it clicks into place.
- Close the cartridge access door.
3. Clean the Cartridge and Contacts
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the cartridge access door and remove the cartridge.
- Gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and the corresponding contacts in the printer using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
- Let the contacts dry for a few minutes.
- Reinsert the cartridge and close the access door.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
4. Reset the Printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then reconnect it to the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
5. Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer
Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve compatibility issues:
- Go to the HP Support website and search for firmware updates for the HP OfficeJet 4630.
- Download and install the firmware update according to the provided instructions.
6. Use Genuine HP Cartridges
If you are using third-party or refilled cartridges, try using genuine HP cartridges. HP printers are known to have compatibility issues with non-HP cartridges due to built-in security features.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
