Hi @Sandy263,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy 7855 printer is not printing in color, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to try and resolve the problem.
Check Ink Levels:
- Make sure that your color ink cartridges have enough ink. Low or empty cartridges can prevent color printing.
Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges:
- Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges may not work properly.
Printer Settings:
- Open the printer software on your computer and check the settings. Ensure that you haven't accidentally set the printer to print in black and white or grayscale.
Clean the Printhead:
- If the printhead is clogged, it can affect color printing. Most HP printers have a printhead cleaning utility in the software. Run a printhead cleaning cycle to clear any blockages.
Align the Printhead:
- Alignment issues can also cause color problems. Run a printhead alignment test and follow the on-screen instructions to align the printhead properly.
Check Paper Type and Quality:
- Ensure that you are using the correct type of paper for color printing. Some specialty papers may not work well with color inkjet printers.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause printing issues.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. Turn it on and try printing again.
Check for Software Updates:
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP website. Updating the printer's firmware can sometimes resolve printing issues.
Test on Another Device:
- Try printing a color document from another computer or device to see if the issue is specific to one device or widespread.
Replace Ink Cartridges:
- If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider replacing the color ink cartridges. Sometimes, even if the ink levels appear to be sufficient, the cartridges may be faulty.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
