Hi @Prabhu24,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8718 is experiencing an issue where the cyan ink is not printing despite replacing the cartridge and cleaning the printhead. Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve this issue.

Verify Cartridge and Ink Levels

  • Ensure the new cyan cartridge is compatible with your printer.
  • Double-check that the cartridge is properly installed.
  • Check the ink levels on your printer's display or through the HP Smart app.

Clean the Printhead (Deeper Cleaning)

  • Perform a deeper cleaning of the printhead via the printer's control panel:
    1. On the printer, navigate to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead.
    2. If the cyan still doesn’t print, repeat the cleaning process up to 3 times.
  • If the cyan doesn’t print after multiple cleanings, proceed to the next step.

Inspect the Printhead

  • Open the printer and remove the printhead assembly:
    1. Turn the printer on and open the cartridge access door.
    2. Wait for the carriage to stop moving.
    3. Remove all cartridges, then lift the latch securing the printhead.
    4. Carefully remove the printhead.
  • Inspect for any dried ink or debris on the cyan nozzle. Gently clean the printhead with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water, focusing on the cyan nozzle.
  • Reinstall the printhead, ensuring it is securely latched, and reinsert the cartridges.

Update Printer Firmware

  • Outdated firmware can sometimes cause issues. Update your printer's firmware:
    1. Visit the HP Support page and download the latest firmware for the OfficeJet Pro 8718.
    2. Follow the instructions to install the update.

Perform a Factory Reset

  • If the issue persists, reset the printer to factory settings:
    1. On the printer's touchscreen, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Settings.
    2. Reconfigure the printer and test again.

Run a Diagnostic Print

  • Print a Printer Status Report or Print Quality Diagnostic Page:
    • Navigate to Setup > Tools > Printer Status Report or Print Quality Report.
  • Check if cyan appears on these test pages. If not, the issue might be with the printhead.

Replace the Printhead

  • If none of the above steps work, the printhead itself may need replacement.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
