Try these steps:
Verify Cartridge Installation
Ensure that the toner cartridge is installed correctly:
- Open the printer door and remove the toner cartridge.
- Shake the toner cartridge gently to redistribute the toner powder.
- Reinstall it securely and ensure it clicks into place properly.
Check Toner Cartridge Condition
Although the toner cartridge is new, it might be defective:
- Inspect the cartridge for any visible defects or damage.
- Check if there’s any leakage or toner spillage.
- If possible, try using another toner cartridge to see if the issue persists.
Run a Print Quality Diagnostic Report
Print a quality diagnostic report to identify the issue:
- From the home screen on the printer’s control panel, touch the Setup button.
- Navigate to Reports and select Print Quality Pages.
- Review the report for any issues or inconsistencies in print quality.
Clean the Printer
Since cleaning has already been attempted, it might be useful to perform another cleaning, focusing on specific components:
Cleaning the Printhead:
- Access cleaning options via the printer menu.
- Perform a printhead cleaning a few times.
Manual Cleaning:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the printer and remove the toner cartridges.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers inside the printer. Avoid using alcohol or other solvents that might damage the printer.
Inspect the Transfer Belt and Rollers
The issue might be associated with the transfer belt or rollers:
- Open the printer and check the transfer belt for any toner buildup or damage.
- Clean the transfer belt and rollers gently with a lint-free cloth.Adjust Print Settings
Sometimes adjusting the print settings can improve print quality:
- Open the Print dialog from the application you're printing from.
- Click Preferences or Properties.
- Ensure the paper type and print quality settings match the media being used.
- Set the print quality to Best or High Quality.
