Hi @64Tiger,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Ensure that you are using genuine HP 952 cartridges. Non-HP or refilled cartridges can cause errors.
Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall the Cartridges
- Make sure the printer is on.
- Lift the access door until it locks into place.
- Press the tab on the front of each cartridge to release it, and then remove it from the slot.
- Inspect the cartridges and remove any protective tape or packaging materials.
- Check the Cartridge Contacts:
- Make sure the electrical contacts are clean and free of ink or debris.
- Reinstall the Cartridges:
- Insert each cartridge back into its corresponding slot until it clicks into place.
- Close the Ink Cartridge Access Door:
- Lower the access door until it clicks back in place.
Reset the Printer
- Press the power button to turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer and the wall outlet.
- Press the power button to turn on the printer.
Update Printer Firmware
- Go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
- Enter "HP OfficeJet Pro 8720" in the search box.
- Follow the instructions to download and install the latest firmware.
I hope this helps.
