HP 8600

Error message says that there is a problem with the printer or ink system. When I put the old one back in everything works fine but I can't print because it is out of ink. Bought another new one and it does the same thing.

Hi @Mark9996,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with the printer ink system error.

Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.

Reset the printer

Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.

Press the power button to turn off the printer. If the printer does not turn off, disconnect the power cord from the printer.

Unplug the power cord from the power source.

Wait 60 seconds.

Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and to the printer.

Turn on the printer to complete the reset.

Perform the remaining steps from this document

Try updating the firmware. Click here

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
