Hi @Foreshock45,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's frustrating when your printer constantly throws up a "printhead problem" error, especially after you've diligently followed the directions and cleaned everything. Don't worry, Here are some additional steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

Let's perform a power drain:

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

Update the printer firmware

  • Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your product
  • Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Update firmware: Check the HP website for any available firmware updates for your printer model. Installing the latest firmware can sometimes fix printhead issues.

  • You're using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-genuine or refilled cartridges can cause printhead problems.
  • Your paper is appropriate for the print job. Make sure it's the right size and type for the photos you're trying to print.

Troubleshooting steps:

Double-check cleaning: Ensure you've cleaned the printhead properly according to HP's instructions for your specific Photosmart Plus model. Pay close attention to the contacts and nozzles of the printhead. Use distilled water and lint-free cloths or swabs.

Check for ink blockage: Gently wipe the nozzles of the cartridges with a damp lint-free cloth. You can also remove the cartridges and place them in a shallow dish of lukewarm water for 10-15 minutes, then dry them thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
