If your HP LaserJet MFP M234dwe printer is not printing after replacing the toner cartridge, here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Check Cartridge Compatibility
Ensure the replacement cartridge is genuine HP and compatible with the M234dwe model. Non-HP or refilled cartridges may not be recognized.
Reinstall the Cartridge
- Power off the printer.
- Remove the toner cartridge.
- Gently shake it side to side to distribute the toner evenly.
- Reinsert it firmly until it clicks into place.
- Power the printer back on.
Check for Error Messages
Look at the printer’s control panel or the HP Smart app for any error messages like:
- “Install Black Cartridge”
- “Cartridge Error”
- “Door Open”
These can indicate improper installation or a faulty cartridge.
Reset the Printer
Sometimes a factory reset can help:
- On the printer control panel, press and hold the Cancel and Wireless buttons for 5 seconds.
- This will restore default settings and may clear any cartridge recognition issues.
Update Firmware
