We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer indicates that the yellow ink cartridge is damaged despite trying multiple new ones, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Solution 1: Turn the Printer Off and On

  1. Turn off the printer by pressing the Power button.
  2. Wait for about 30 seconds.
  3. Turn on the printer by pressing the Power button again.

Solution 2: Install the Ink Cartridge Correctly

Open the ink cartridge access door.

Opening the cartridge access door

Remove the ink cartridge:

  • Push in on the cartridge to release it.
  • Pull it firmly towards you.

Insert the cartridge:

  • Ensure that the colored dot on the cartridge matches the slot.
  • Slide the cartridge into its slot.
  • Press it forward until it clicks into place.
Insert the cartridge into its color-coded slot

Close the ink cartridge access door.

Hope this helps!
