Hi @JERRY4777,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing a persistent issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer after trying third-party ink and then switching back to genuine HP ink. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem.

  • Verify Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the new cartridges are installed correctly. Remove them and reinsert them carefully to make sure they are securely in place.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source. Remove the ink cartridges and clean the contacts on both the cartridges and in the printer with a lint-free cloth.
  • Update Firmware/Software: Make sure your printer's firmware and software are up-to-date. Visit the HP official website and download the latest firmware and drivers for your printer model.
  • Reset Printer: Perform a hard reset by turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, and waiting for about 10 minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Check for Updates: Ensure that your computer's operating system and any printing-related software are also up-to-date.
  • Use Genuine HP Cartridges: HP printers are often designed to work optimally with genuine HP cartridges. While third-party cartridges might be more affordable, they can sometimes cause compatibility issues.

Remember that using third-party ink cartridges can sometimes lead to compatibility issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
