@GLHage, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
If you're experiencing issues where the black ink cartridge isn't printing on your HP DeskJet 2755 All-in-One Printer, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Step 1: Check the Ink Levels
- Ensure that the ink cartridges have adequate ink. You can check this through your printer's software or control panel.
Step 2: Clean the Contacts
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the ink cartridge access door and gently remove the black ink cartridge.
- Using a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with distilled water, clean the copper-colored contacts on the ink cartridge and the contacts inside the printer.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridge.
Step 3: Align the Cartridges
- After reinserting the cartridges, perform a cartridge alignment via the printer settings. This might require printing an alignment page and scanning it.
Step 4: Print a Test Page
- Print a test page to see if the black ink is printing correctly. This can usually be done through the printer’s software or control panel menu.
Step 5: Update Firmware
- Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer model at the HP Support page and perform the update.
Step 6: Run Diagnostic and Cleaning Tools
- Use the HP Printer Assistant software to run the diagnostic and cleaning tools which can often correct printing issues.
