I moved last year from Canada to France. I have tried multiple times to change the country associated with my instant ink account, with no success. I have read suggestions on these forums.

 

What I have tried:

  • Changing the country to France within instant ink (the country is greyed out)
  • Changing the country associated with my HP account (changed to France and added French shipping address, however country still remains Canada on instant ink)
  • Removing the printer from my account and creating a new account with HP France (attempts often end in errors, or I get redirected to add an instant ink account for a US account)

 

I would appreciate if an HP representative would make the change manually or otherwise enable me to change the country. As of right now I am unable to use  my printer.

I am still failing to sign up for instant ink on a new HP account in France, and still unable to change my country on my existing account. Awaiting a reply from a customer service representative.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I completely understand that you want to update your Instant Ink delivery address from Canada to France so you can continue receiving ink at your new location. Unfortunately, HP does not allow country changes on an existing Instant Ink account.

What You Need to Do:

1.  Cancel Your Current Instant Ink Subscription (Canada)

  • Since Instant Ink subscriptions are region-specific, you’ll need to cancel your current Canadian account before setting up a new one in France.

2.  Sign Up for Instant Ink in France

  • Once your Canadian account is cancelled, go to HP Instant Ink (France) and create a new subscription using your France address.

3.  Receive New Ink for Your France Account

  • When you activate your new France Instant Ink subscription, HP will send you a new set of ink cartridges.
  • Important: Your old Instant Ink cartridges (from the Canadian account) will no longer work once your previous subscription is cancelled.

Steps to Cancel and Re-enroll:

1️. Log in to your HP Instant Ink account
2️. Cancel your current plan under "Manage Subscription"
3️. Wait for cancellation confirmation (Ensure your printer is set up with standard ink in the meantime)
4️. Visit HP Instant Ink (France) and sign up with your new France address
5️. Install the new Instant Ink cartridges when they arrive

Once you complete these steps, you’ll be able to receive ink at your new France address and continue printing without any issues. Let me know if you need any help with this!

Thank you. I have tried these steps many times.

1. Yes, I have cancelled my Canadian instant ink subscription

2. When I attempt to sign up for France instant ink, I go to (https://instantink.hpconnected.com/fr/fr/l/), login with my HP account, click "Je m'inscris" (sign up), and then get to this screen which never loads:

I have tried this using my existing account, using a new account, using incognito mode, etc. In no cases does the screen ever load and I am unable to sign up. Please advise.

Please share your printer’s serial number so I can check the details and provide better support. Additionally, if you're encountering any error messages or failure codes, kindly share them. Also, could you confirm whether you're using regular French ink cartridges for registration or Canadian Instant Ink cartridges? This will help me find the best solution for you.

  • The serial number is (Edited).
  • The cartridges that are still in the printer are Canadian instant ink cartridges.
  • The printer is flashing "E" which I suppose is an error code, but I assumed that was just because it has instant ink cartridges without a subscription.

Thank you for sharing the details. I see that you have canceled your Instant Ink service. To register for Instant Ink in France, you will need to use a new email address, as the current one cannot be reused. Please visit the HP Instant Ink page, sign up with a new email, and complete the registration with your details. Once you choose a plan, the HP France Instant Ink team will ship the ink cartridges to you. These cartridges will be automatically detected by the printer, allowing it to start working again. I have:

  • Removed my printer from my previous HP account
  • Created a new HP account with a different email address
  • Added my printer to that new account
  • Tried to sign up for instant ink on that new account

However, I am only able to add payment information, add shipping address, and choose a plan. On the step "Activating HP+ on your printer" I get error UA_400_EB000U0422 and I'm unable to complete the process.
