Hi @VAWII,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e All-In-One Printer is indicating that the cartridges have been identified as altered or cloned, it means that the printer has detected that the ink cartridges you are using may not be genuine HP cartridges or have been tampered with. HP printers often have security features to prevent the use of counterfeit or non-genuine cartridges. Here's what you can do.

  • Verify Cartridge Authenticity: Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges that are designed for your specific printer model. Counterfeit or third-party cartridges may not work correctly and can trigger these warnings.
  • Check for Cartridge Errors: Sometimes, the issue might not be with the cartridges themselves but with the contacts or installation. Make sure the cartridges are properly installed, and there is no visible damage to them.
  • Update Firmware/Software: Ensure that your printer's firmware and driver software are up to date. HP occasionally releases updates to address issues like these, and updating your printer's software might resolve the problem.
  • Replace Cartridges: If you have been using non-genuine or refilled cartridges, consider replacing them with genuine HP cartridges. This can help prevent further issues and ensure the best print quality and reliability.

It's important to note that using non-genuine or refilled cartridges can sometimes lead to print quality problems and can potentially void your printer's warranty. Genuine HP cartridges are designed to work seamlessly with HP printers and offer the best overall experience in terms of quality and reliability.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

So Alden4. . .

My printer is out of warranty. . .

I have had FANTASTIC history with aftermarket cartridges from this Vendor

WHY has HP decided WHAT cartridges I CAN or CANNOT use in a printer I PURCHASED!!!!!!!!???????????

What it the workaround/bypass other than buy HP's OVERPRICED cartridges?
