Hi @Valsurfer,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is having trouble recognizing the cyan cartridge despite using genuine HP cartridges.
Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Reset the Printer:
- Turn the printer on.
- While the printer is on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the outlet and reconnect it to the printer.
- Turn the printer on and check if it recognizes the cyan cartridge.
2. Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
- Carefully remove the cyan cartridge.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge.
- Do the same for the electrical contacts inside the printer where the cartridge sits.
- Let the contacts dry for a few minutes, then reinsert the cartridge and check if the issue is resolved.
3. Update Printer Firmware: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Outdated firmware can sometimes cause problems with cartridge recognition. You can check for and install any available firmware updates:
- Go to the HP support website and search for your printer model.
- Download and install the latest firmware update for the OfficeJet Pro 9015.
4. Reinsert All Cartridges:
- Sometimes reseating all cartridges can help.
- Remove all cartridges from the printer, including the cyan.
- Turn the printer off and on again without any cartridges installed.
- After restarting, insert each cartridge one at a time, starting with the cyan.
5. Use a Different Cyan Cartridge:
- While you’ve already tried a second new cyan cartridge, there’s still a chance that both were faulty or the batch was defective. You could try one more from a different supplier, ensuring it’s a genuine HP cartridge.
6. Check for Protective Tape:
- Double-check that you’ve removed the protective plastic strip or tape on the contacts of the new cyan cartridge.

May I know if you have changed the region if Yes then we have to perform a Regional reset
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
