I received replacement ink cartridges from HP.  They loaded successfully and printed the sheet which was then successfully scanned.  I was able to print two documents before getting the message on the printer that the ink cartridges were incompatible, I shut off the printer, unplugged it, shut off my laptop.  Then plugged everything back in, turned everything on and again received the same message that the cartridges are incompatible.  I tried contacting HP and was not able to reach anyone.  Do you have a way for me to contact a human at HP?  Thank you,

Hi @Kariedi,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with HP ink cartridges suddenly becoming incompatible after initially working fine, here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

Troubleshooting Steps:

Reinstall Cartridges:

  • Turn off the printer and remove the ink cartridges.
  • Carefully reinstall them, ensuring they are securely seated in their respective slots.
  • Close the cartridge access door securely.

Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and remove the ink cartridges.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to gently wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridges.
  • Allow the cartridges to dry for a few minutes before reinstalling them.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the HP Support website, enter your printer model, and download any available firmware updates.
  • Follow the instructions to install the firmware updates on your printer.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet first, then reconnect it to the printer.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

Check Cartridge Authenticity:

  • Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Counterfeit or refilled cartridges may not be recognized by the printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
