HP Officejet 5258

I bought new ink cartridges for my Officejet 5258 from Staples.  After installing the new cartridges, the printer shows this error message:

"The indicated cartridges are not intended for use in this printer."

I have removed/reinstalled the cartridges, rebooted the printer.  They are the very same cartridges I have used previously (63 xl).  They clearly state on the packaging that they are meant to be used in the 5258.  Why don't they work?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

It could be a set of defective ink. If you insert your old ones, do you still get the error message?
