Why can't I use the same number ink cartridge that I just replaced? It came in a two pack - HP 952XL. The first cartridge worked fine. When it was empty, replaced it with the same number cartridge from the same package and get the message "older generation cartridge that does not work in your printer".

So a reply I got was to check the expiration date on the ink Cartridge. If it has expired, the new update on the hp printer rejects the cartridge, even though it is an HP cartridge. That's just not acceptable on HP's part! That is VERY FRUSTRATING! Makes me want to NOT buy another HP Printer!
