@Snorey, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you removed the entire strip from your ink cartridge, it could affect the cartridge's functionality, as that strip is usually there to prevent leakage and ensure proper ink flow. Depending on the cartridge, the strip might also be linked to a protective cover that needs to be removed before use.
Here are a few things to check:
Ink Cartridge Status: Inspect the cartridge for any damage, such as exposed ink or broken parts.
Cartridge Seals: Some HP ink cartridges have a protective tape or plastic seal that needs to be removed. If this is the case, and you only removed a part of it, check if the remaining parts can still be safely removed.
Installation: If the cartridge appears physically intact and the ink is not leaking, you can try reinserting it into the printer to see if it recognizes the cartridge and works as expected.
If you notice any leakage or your printer doesn't recognize the cartridge, it might be best to replace it with a new one.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
