I have a deskjet 2800e with error E0 which I find odd because in the manual the error list is E2 to E9 however elsewhere it says E0=0 unusable cartridge.  
The printer has been saying “low ink” but print quality is still good or was until it stopped with E0 error I don’t think it’s a low ink problem. 
Any ideas

General ink cartridge help

 

If you have adequate ink then possible the printheads just need to be cleaned.

Note that even printing black the color cartridges are also used.  If one color cartridge is empty it is likely the printer  will not function.
