Hi @Daniel367 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering issues with the ink system after replacing cartridges in your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Ensure Proper Installation:

  • Make sure that the new cartridges are installed correctly. Double-check that you removed the protective tape and that they are securely seated in their respective slots.

Check for Ink Levels:

  • Verify that the cartridges have sufficient ink levels. Some printers might show errors if the ink levels are low.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 60 seconds. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can often resolve temporary glitches.

Update Firmware/Software:

  • Check if there are any firmware or software updates available for your printer on the HP website. Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve compatibility issues.

Clean Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it. Remove the cartridges and clean the electrical contacts on both the cartridges and in the printer with a lint-free cloth. Make sure they are dry before reinstalling.

Reset the Printer:

  • Perform a semi-full reset on the printer. You can find the instructions for a semi-full reset in your printer's user manual or on the HP support website.

Check for Blocked Ink Nozzles:

  • Some printers have a self-cleaning function. Check your printer's manual for information on how to initiate this process. It may help clear any blocked ink nozzles.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
