Hi @RetailStoreBiz

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear you're facing this frustrating issue with your HP printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the "inkjet cartridge damaged" error:

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure the cartridges are installed correctly. Remove them and reseat them, making sure they click into place.

Inspect Cartridges:

  • Check the cartridges for any protective tape that may not have been removed. Sometimes a small piece of tape can prevent proper contact.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Use a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water to gently clean the copper contacts on the cartridges and the printer. Make sure everything is dry before reinstalling the cartridges.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for at least 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • Ensure that you are using genuine HP cartridges. Third-party cartridges can sometimes cause compatibility issues.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Visit the HP website to check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. An update can sometimes fix recognition issues.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • With the printer on, unplug it, wait a minute, then plug it back in. This can sometimes reset error messages.

Try One Cartridge at a Time:

  • If you have multiple cartridges installed, try removing all but one and see if the printer recognizes that cartridge. This can help identify if one of them is faulty.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
