Installed a new black cartridge into my HP5255 printer. Align prompt did not qppear. Not printing correctly so need to align.

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

I understand that you want to align the printer, I am glad to assist you.

Align the printhead from the printer display

a. Load letter or A4 unused plain white paper into the input tray. 

b. On the printer control panel display, from the Home screen, swipe left to see ( Setup ) and touch ( Setup ). 

c. Touch Tools, touch Align Cartridges, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

Followed Sandy's instructions. Got msg 'can't detect alignment page'. Printed page is on scanner bed. Now what??
