I have cancelled my instant ink cartridge and as HP sort of control my printer I cannot print anymore unless I buy retail cartridges. Looking online at forum some people have bought their own cartridges but still can't print! Is this a common problem? I'm reluctant to spend £30 if I still cannot print. I wish I had known HP would not let you carry on using their cartridges until the ink ran out. What a waste! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Maz

Hi @Mazzystar1 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're facing a frustrating situation with your HP ENVY 6022e All-In-One Printer after canceling your Instant Ink subscription. While it's unfortunate that some users encounter difficulties with using retail cartridges after canceling their subscription, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
- Restart Printer: Sometimes, simply restarting the printer can resolve communication issues between the printer and cartridges.
- Update Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. HP occasionally releases updates to address compatibility issues and improve functionality. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Reset Printer: Try performing a reset on your printer to clear any temporary glitches. Instructions for resetting your specific model can usually be found in the printer's manual or on HP's support website.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
