Hi @LoriD1419,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Remove Instant Ink Cartridges:
- Open the printer’s cartridge access door.
- Wait for the ink carriage to stop moving, then remove the Instant Ink cartridges from the printer.
Install Genuine HP Ink Cartridges:
- Insert the genuine HP ink cartridges that you purchased into the correct slots in the printer.
- Make sure they are firmly seated.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer by pressing the power button.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer and the wall outlet, and then turn the printer back on.
Verify Printer Enrollment Status:
- Make sure that your printer is no longer enrolled in HP Instant Ink. You can do this by logging into your HP account and checking the status of your subscription.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Ensure that your printer firmware is up-to-date. Outdated firmware might cause issues with recognizing genuine HP cartridges.
- To update your printer firmware, visit the HP support website, search for your printer model, and follow the instructions for updating the firmware.
Reconnect to the Internet (if previously enrolled in HP Instant Ink):
- Reconnect your printer to the internet to ensure that it communicates with the HP server to update its status.
I hope this helps.
