Dear Community,

 

I would like to use the printer that I have mentioned with the black ink cartridge only, since I do not need color prints.

Will the printer give me an error if I am trying to do so?

Yes, you will have an error. It's not possible to print with a black ink cartridge only on HP Officejet 8715.

What about using filled black ink cartridges and empty CYM cartridges?

The same thing, if colour cartridges are empty the printer will stop printing even in black&white.
