Hi everyone,
I am experiencing an issue with my HP Photosmart 6510 printer. All colors print well except for cyan, which prints with streaks. For example, when I print various shapes in cyan, I get these streaks. However, when I set the print settings to "Best Quality," the cyan prints perfectly without any streaks. I've already tried printhead cleaning, alignment, and resetting the printer, but the problem persists.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix it?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @Quin-946,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're dealing with a common issue where cyan ink isn't distributing evenly, leading to streaks. Here are a few additional steps you can try.
- Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the cyan ink cartridge is not low or empty. Sometimes, even if it appears to have ink, it might be running low.
- Replace the Cyan Cartridge: Even if the ink level seems fine, the cartridge itself might be defective. Try replacing it with a new one.
- Clean the Printhead: Since you've already done a basic printhead cleaning, consider performing a more thorough cleaning if your printer has that option. You might find this option in the printer settings or maintenance menu.
- Run a Printhead Alignment: Sometimes, misalignment can cause streaks. Run a printhead alignment from the printer’s maintenance menu.
- Check for Obstructions: Make sure there is no obstruction in the printhead area that might be affecting the ink flow.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes updates can resolve printing issues.
- Perform a Test Print: Try printing a test page directly from the printer’s menu to see if the issue persists outside of regular print jobs.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
