HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2516 All-in-One Printer

Hi, all. My name is Daniel and I am from Trichy, Tamilnadu. When we were in Saudi Arabia, we bought HP Deskjet IA 2516 printer and were overwhelmed by its performance. We are currently in India, trying to use the same printer.  Though we initially had the issue of cartridge, we managed to get it through our friends and relatives.  Now, when we ran out of Cartridge, started looking for an alternative and found 678  - which is available in India compatible with my printer.  Instead of 650 - I tried using 678.   The issue now is - I am not able to print.  I have 650/tricolor and 678/black in the respective slots in my printer.  The documents remain in queue and the job never getting done.  The surprising things is - whenever I remove the black cartridge/678 from the printer...I am able to print...sadly no ink in the 650 cartridge.  What am I supposed to do?  Whatever I try, things only go south.  I keep hearing that we need to reset the region... but wondering how to do that.  I don't like to part with this printer when it is in working condition, just for the sake of the cartridge.  Please help me.

Hi @Prisdan, Welcome to the HP Support.

I will be more than happy to help you out here.

To perform a printer region reset you need to meet the following conditions:

1. You need to have the printer full feature software installed on your computer.

2. You need to have all the cartridges either from the region/country from where the printer was purchased originally or the new region/country to which you want to reset it to.

3. Make sure HP Smart App is installed too.

Do keep me posted.

Take care and have a good day.
