Laserjet Pro 100 Color MFP 175NW does not print in excel and word after Windows 10 updates

HP Recommended

Spent 8hrs with Microsoft yesterday as to why I was unable to Print ONLY with Excel and Word 2016 (all other apps print without any issues) . Reinstalled office2016 - deleted updates but no luck..

To find where the problem was I downloaded LIBRE OFFICE to determine if it was an update issue or a driver issue. Same issue happened with LIBRE OFFICE pointing to the PRINTER DRIVERS having issues - though it says the drivers have been confirmed to work with Windows Updates.

Is HP aware of this and do we have a fix

Anyone else with similar issue but have resolved it..

The printer was working fine till the latest Windows updates - anyway of installing a previous version of the printer drivers?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Are you using the HP Smart App on your PC? If not, you may try and install to see if that works: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04675142. If yes, uninstall and reinstall it.

If the issue still persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Hi ... Unfortunately that did not resolve the issue .. I have done this before and did it again today but no luck .. Its quite frustrating as I have to always create PDF and print ..

Any further thoughts would be welcome . Microsoft will not assist further as the same issue happens with LIBRA OFFICE.

I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:

•    Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.

•    When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.

•    Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.

Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help.

Do you have any other Computer connected to this Printer that you can try printing these excel/word files to check if it's a driver or a computer issue?
