@autopointjamui6, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for the details. Based on your description, your HP LaserJet Tank MFP 1005w is experiencing:

  • Delayed (late) printing
  • Poor or unclear print quality

Let’s break it down and address both issues step by step:

Late Print / Slow Printing

This could be caused by connection issues, driver problems, or printer settings.

Try the following:

  1. Check connection type:
    • If you're using Wi-Fi, try switching to USB temporarily to see if it improves speed.
    • Restart your Wi-Fi router and printer to refresh the connection.
  2. Print a test page from the printer control panel:
    • This helps check if the printer prints quickly without the computer. If it does, the issue is likely with the driver or PC.
  3. Update/Reinstall printer drivers:
  4. Avoid Print Spooling Delays:
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right-click your printer > Printer Properties > Advanced tab
    • Choose "Print directly to the printer" instead of "Spool print documents".

Print Not Clear / Poor Print Quality

This may happen due to low toner, incorrect media settings, or dirty internal parts.

Try the following:

  1. Check toner levels:
    • If the toner is low, refill it using the HP toner refill bottle. Make sure you shake it gently before inserting.
  2. Run Cleaning Function:
    • On the printer's control panel or using HP Smart App:
      • Look for the "Clean Page" or "Print Quality Toolbox" and run the cleaning cycle.
  3. Check paper type settings:
    • Make sure the printer and driver settings match the actual paper being used (e.g., plain A4).
  4. Use recommended paper:
    • Ensure you're using high-quality, compatible paper (not damp, folded, or dusty).
  5. Manually clean internal components:
    • Turn off and unplug the printer.
    • Open the toner access area and check for any toner spills or paper dust. Clean gently with a lint-free cloth.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
