Hi there. I've tried everything to try to get lines on my planner pages to print straight on my HP Envy Inspire 7955e. I have attempted to align the cartridges and even replaced them entirely, however, they still will not print straight. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? I also recently had to move with the printer and attached is a piece that we found. Not sure where it goes or if it could be causing the issue. Thank you for any insight! 0A7B84B2-7D1D-4C9E-A468-765342715653.jpeg959DA3E0-7D23-40AE-A773-5B807D178889.jpeg4C07E471-0EC2-4A1E-B964-C1EE8835B741.jpegF33205C9-D526-40C8-B95F-AD19EE65ED5E.jpegCC235EE6-5D11-4240-BD48-9AEC16AA00FE.jpeg4FB94CEC-90F0-4666-BF9A-C3B259542477.jpeg

Hi @mrei258,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy Inspire 7955e printer is not printing straight lines, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the problem.

  • Check Paper Alignment: Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the paper tray and that it is properly aligned. Misaligned paper can cause printing issues.
  • Paper Quality and Type: Make sure you are using the correct type and size of paper that is supported by your printer. Using the wrong paper type can result in alignment problems.
  • Printer Driver Update: Ensure that you have the latest printer driver installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can lead to printing problems. You can usually download the latest drivers from the HP website.
  • Calibrate the Printer: Some HP printers have a calibration option in the printer settings. Check your printer's user manual to see if it has this feature and follow the calibration process.
  • Clean the Print Head: Over time, the print head can become dirty or clogged, which can cause alignment issues. Most printers have a cleaning utility in their software that you can use to clean the print head.
  • Check for Obstructions: Inspect the printer's paper path for any obstructions such as bits of torn paper or foreign objects. These can disrupt the paper feed and result in skewed prints.
  • Adjust Print Settings: In your printer settings on your computer, check for any settings related to alignment or margin adjustments. Sometimes, adjusting these settings can help improve alignment.
  • Print a Test Page: Most printers have a test page option in their settings. Print a test page to see if the alignment issue persists. This can help you determine if the problem is with a specific document or with the printer itself.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. HP often releases firmware updates that can address various printing issues.
  • Inspect the Cartridges: Check the ink or toner cartridges to ensure they are properly seated and not running low on ink. Low ink levels or improperly installed cartridges can affect print quality.

By following these troubleshooting steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue causing your HP Envy Inspire 7955e printer to print crooked or misaligned lines.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
