Hi,
My laser printer started showing the dots on the right side of printed page. I used the printer maintenance feature, but it still didn't resolve. I'm looking forward to any troubleshooting suggestions. Thanks!

Hi @Chachapoo,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you are facing a print quality issue with your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdw. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
To assist better:
- Are you using genuine HP ink cartridges?
- Does the copy print out the same way?
- What's the application you are trying to print from?
- Have you tried printing from a different application or device?
- do you still see the marks when you print a blank paper
- Please help to verify if there are any dent marks on the transfer belt
While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.
Let's perform a power drain:
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Remove the USB cable, if present.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
- Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
- Turn on the printer and wait till the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle
Update the printer firmware

Hi Gaya1239,
I followed what you said but it didn't work. Here are the answers of your questions.
1. Yes! We purchased the HP414X ink
2. Yes! If we cut the edge, we can avoid the scratches. Sometimes we also print out the label.
3. Just default print function from laptop. All laptops have HP software installed.
4. All laptops have the same issues.
5. No marks if we print a blank paper.
6. dIdn't see any dent marks on the transfer belt.
Based on your guide, I might think that's Table 11 issue: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_6747504-6747557-16#GUID-AE0C30E6-C64A-463E-9B09-3DDACD926E.... But I'm also not sure of it.
Adding two more testings page from print quality tools.
