HP DesignJet Z6810 42-in Production Printer

My z6810 indicates that three cartridges are missing. The cartridges are correct for my printer and are genuine HP cartridges. I have tried the following:

- new cartridges (not expired)

- new firmware

- cleaning the contact surfaces on the cartridges.

- reboot where I removed power completely

Any suggestions to what the problem may be?

We uncovered the culprit:

After removing the side panel of the printer, we discovered that a plastic post at the back of the ink rack was snaped of. This led to the rack of ink being loose on one side and therefore the printer thought the cartridges were missing. Problem solved!
