Hi @Gregg7624 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 is showing a "missing or failed printhead" error even after reseating or replacing the printhead, here are a few things to check:
Clean Printhead Contacts:
- Ensure the electrical contacts on both the printhead and inside the printer are clean and free of debris. You can gently clean these contacts with a lint-free cloth and some isopropyl alcohol.
Check for Obstructions:
- Make sure there are no obstructions or foreign objects in the printhead area that could prevent proper installation.
Inspect Printhead and Cartridges:
- Verify that the printhead and ink cartridges are correctly seated. Make sure the cartridges are compatible and properly installed.
Perform a Reset:
- Try performing a hard reset on the printer. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
Firmware Update:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, firmware issues can cause errors related to the printhead.
Check for Printer Errors:
- Look at the printer’s display or status messages for any additional error codes or messages that could provide more insight into the problem.
Try a Different Printhead:
- If possible, test with another printhead to rule out the possibility of a defective replacement.
