Hi @HRuser1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M179fnw is not printing color despite the cartridges showing as full and a reset not resolving the issue, here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem:
1. Check Printer Settings
- Print Settings: Ensure that your print settings are set to print in color. Sometimes, the issue can be as simple as the print job being set to grayscale or black and white.
- On Windows: Go to the Control Panel -> Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, select "Printing Preferences," and make sure the color options are set to "Color."
- On macOS: Open "Printers & Scanners," select your printer, click "Options & Supplies," and check the settings.
2. Verify Ink Cartridge Installation
- Reinstall Cartridges: Even if the cartridges show as full, they might not be seated correctly. Remove each cartridge and reinstall them to ensure they’re properly connected.
3. Run Printer Diagnostics
- Print Quality Report: Check if the printer has a built-in diagnostic or print quality report option. This can help identify issues with the color printing.
- Refer to the printer's user manual for instructions on how to print a diagnostic report or print quality page.
4. Check for Printhead Issues
- Clean Printheads: Some printers have printhead cleaning options that you can access via the printer’s menu or software. Cleaning the printheads can sometimes resolve color printing issues.
- Follow the instructions in the printer’s manual or use the HP Smart app to access cleaning functions.
5. Update Printer Firmware
- Firmware Update: Outdated firmware can sometimes cause printing issues. Check the HP website for any available firmware updates for your printer model and follow the instructions to update.
6. Check for Software Issues
- Driver Update: Ensure you have the latest printer drivers installed. Sometimes, outdated or corrupt drivers can affect printing functionality.
- Download the latest drivers from the HP Support website for your printer model and install them.
7. Perform a Printer Reset
- Factory Reset: If a simple reset didn’t work, you might try performing a factory reset. Be cautious, as this will return the printer to its original settings and you may need to reconfigure it.
- Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
