Hi @NanaDeb25,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 8020 still won't print in color after replacing the cartridges and cleaning the print head, try these additional steps:

Troubleshooting Steps

Check Color Settings:

  • Go to Printer Preferences on your computer.
  • Ensure that the color setting is not set to "Print in Grayscale" or "Black & White."

Run the Print Quality Diagnostic:

  • Use the HP Smart app or the printer's control panel to run a print quality diagnostic or print a test page. This can help identify any issues.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Verify that the new cartridges are recognized and have sufficient ink levels. Sometimes, new cartridges can be defective.

Reinstall the Cartridges:

  • Remove the cartridges again and reinstall them, making sure they click into place securely.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. Check the HP website for any updates.

Perform a Printhead Cleaning:

  • If your printer has a printhead cleaning option in the settings, run it again to ensure any blockages are cleared.

Factory Reset:

  • As a last resort, you can reset the printer to factory settings. Refer to the printer manual for instructions on how to do this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
