This started when I changed the black ink cartridge. I did an alignment but I put the alignment printed out upside down then ran the alignment. Unfortunately the side exposed to the printer/copier was a full page letter. The printer has not printed quality pages from my Gateway Desktop pc. It does print quality pages from my Galaxy S21.

Hi @LBG7,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like the alignment process didn't go as planned due to the placement of the alignment page, and now the printer is having issues printing quality pages from your Gateway Desktop PC, although it works fine with your Galaxy S21. This suggests that the issue may be related to the printer’s settings, drivers, or communication with the desktop PC.
Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:
Step 1: Re-Align the Printer
The alignment could have been compromised when you placed the alignment page upside down. Here’s how to properly realign the printer:
- Open the Printer Settings:
- On the printer control panel, go to the Setup menu.
- Find the Tools section and select Align Printer.
- Place the Correct Alignment Page:
- Ensure that the alignment page is placed face-up, and the side with the printed patterns is facing the printer’s scanner bed.
- Run the Alignment Again:
- Follow the on-screen prompts to align the printer properly.
Step 2: Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers on Your Gateway PC
Outdated or incorrect drivers may cause print quality issues. Since the printer works fine with your Galaxy S21 but not your Gateway Desktop, the drivers on the desktop may be outdated or have become corrupted.
- Visit HP’s Official Support Website:
- Go to HP Support.
- Enter your HP ENVY 6455e model number and download the latest drivers for your Gateway Desktop PC.
- Uninstall Old Printer Drivers (Optional):
- Before installing the new drivers, you may want to uninstall the existing ones from your desktop. You can do this by:
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Right-click the printer and select Remove device.
- Then go to Device Manager, find the printer under Printers, right-click it, and select Uninstall.
- Before installing the new drivers, you may want to uninstall the existing ones from your desktop. You can do this by:
- Install the New Drivers:
- Once the old drivers are removed, install the latest drivers that you downloaded from the HP website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
