printer is reading supply system problem. does anyone know how to fix this?

First the printer had a problem stating that the ink cartridge was not the correct cartridge. (It was)

I replaced it anyway with a brand new cartridge and the problem still existed, only it advanced to a supply problem now.

Thank you in advance to anyone that can help. I was thinking about cleaning out the box that holds thie ink cartridges, but wondered what would be the best thing to use as a cleaning fluid.
