If your HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 isn't printing black ink even after cleaning the print head, here are a few additional steps you can try.
Check Ink Cartridge Installation:
- Ensure the black ink cartridge is properly installed. Remove and reinsert it, making sure it clicks into place.
Inspect the Ink Cartridge:
- Check for any protective tape or packaging that may not have been removed from the ink cartridge.
Perform a Printhead Alignment:
- Go to the printer’s settings menu and perform a printhead alignment. This can sometimes resolve printing issues.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Make sure your printer's firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes firmware updates can resolve printing issues.
Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website. This tool can diagnose and fix many printing issues automatically.
Verify Ink Levels:
- Double-check the ink levels on your printer’s control panel or through the HP Smart app to ensure there's sufficient ink in the cartridge.
Try a Different Cartridge:
- If possible, try using a new or different black ink cartridge to determine if the issue is with the cartridge itself.
