Hi @Mpmarine23,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're facing an issue with your HP black cartridge not printing consistently. This could be due to various reasons, and here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink levels in the black cartridge are sufficient. Some printers may not print if the ink levels are too low.

Clean Print Heads: Use your printer's utility software to clean the print heads. This can help remove any dried ink or debris that might be affecting the print quality.

Alignment Check: Run a print head alignment check. Misaligned print heads can lead to printing issues. Your printer software should have an option for head alignment.

Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause printing problems.

Paper Quality: Make sure you are using the correct type and size of paper for your printer. Improper paper selection can lead to printing issues.

Inspect Cartridge: Check the black cartridge for any visible issues such as leaks or damage. If you notice any problems, consider replacing the cartridge.

Reset Printer: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in. Power cycling can sometimes resolve printing problems.

Check for Updates: Ensure that your printer firmware is updated. HP often release firmware updates that address bugs and improve performance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
