Printer has been giving me issues like difficulty scanning, often giving me blank pages because it can’t process scanning the paper and print unaligned copies.

Hi @Mariacris10,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing multiple issues with your printer. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to address scanning problems, blank pages, and misalignment:

1. Check Connections

  • Ensure that all cables (USB or network) are securely connected.
  • If using Wi-Fi, confirm that the printer is connected to the correct network.

2. Update or Reinstall Drivers

  • Go to the HP website and download the latest drivers for your printer model.
  • Uninstall the current printer drivers and then install the updated ones.

3. Clean the Print Head

  • Access the printer’s maintenance settings via the control panel or HP Smart app.
  • Run a Print Head Cleaning cycle to remove any clogs that may be causing blank pages.

4. Check Ink Levels

  • Ensure that all ink cartridges have enough ink. Replace any that are low or empty.

5. Perform a Printer Alignment

  • Use the printer’s settings to perform an alignment. This can often resolve misalignment issues.

6. Scan Settings

  • When scanning, ensure you’re using the correct settings. Check the resolution and file type to ensure compatibility.
  • Try scanning a single page to see if it resolves the issue before attempting multi-page scans.

7. Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

8. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website. This tool can help diagnose and fix issues with printing and scanning.

9. Test Different Paper Types

  • If you are getting misaligned copies, ensure you are using the correct paper type and size.
  • Avoid using crumpled or damp paper, as this can lead to scanning and printing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
