HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer

I have run the troubleshooting steps to align and clean printer, but the printer still skips (does not print) the top inch or so of the pages...even the alignment page and clean report page.

Hi @AngieGolindano,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to deal with printing issues, especially when troubleshooting steps haven't resolved them completely. Here are a few additional steps you can try for your HP OfficeJet 4650.

  • Check Paper Size and Type Settings: Ensure that the paper size and type settings in both the printer and your computer are correct. Sometimes, mismatched settings can cause the printer to skip parts of the page.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Firmware updates can fix bugs and improve printer performance.
  • Check Print Driver Settings: Verify that the print driver settings on your computer match the paper settings in the printer. Adjust the margins and scaling settings if necessary.
  • Clean the Paper Feed Rollers: Paper feed rollers can accumulate dust and debris over time, leading to feed issues. Clean them using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water or isopropyl alcohol.
  • Reset Printer: Sometimes resetting the printer can resolve persistent issues. Unplug the power cord from the printer and wait at least 60 seconds before plugging it back in.
  • Check for Physical Obstructions: Inspect the printer for any jammed paper or foreign objects that could be obstructing the paper path.
  • Try Different Paper: Use high-quality, dry paper that is not curled or wrinkled. Sometimes, poor paper quality can cause feeding issues.

These steps should help you troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the skipping issue with your HP OfficeJet 4650 printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
