I understand the blinking colored cartridge light on your HP DeskJet 2655 printer indicates an issue with the color cartridge. Since you've replaced it with a new one and the issue persists, follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve it:
1. Verify the Cartridge Installation
- Turn off the printer and open the cartridge access door.
- Check that the color cartridge is properly seated in its slot. Push it gently but firmly until it clicks into place.
- Close the cartridge access door and turn on the printer.
2. Inspect the Cartridge for Damage
- Remove the color cartridge and inspect the copper contacts and the nozzle for dirt, dust, or damage.
- If dirty, clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
- Let it dry completely before reinserting the cartridge.
3. Reset the Printer
- Disconnect the printer's power cable while it is on.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cable and turn on the printer. Check if the light persists.
4. Check for Non-Genuine Cartridge Issues
- Ensure you are using an original HP color cartridge compatible with your DeskJet 2655 printer.
- Non-genuine cartridges may not be recognized correctly by the printer.
5. Update the Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Connect your printer to your computer via USB or WiFi.
- Open the HP Support Assistant or go to HP's official website to download and install the latest firmware for your printer.
6. Test the Cartridge
- Try inserting the old cartridge back into the printer. If the light stops blinking, the issue might be with the new cartridge.
- If possible, test the new cartridge in a different compatible HP printer to determine if the cartridge is faulty.

- Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to diagnose and fix common cartridge issues.
8. Perform a Hard Reset
- With the printer powered on, unplug the power cable from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for 2-3 minutes, then plug the cable back in and power on the printer.
