I understand your HP OfficeJet 5255 All-in-One Printer won’t print,
here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Basic Checks
Check Printer Status:
- Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your computer or network.
- Ensure there are no error messages on the printer’s display.
Check Paper and Ink:
- Confirm that there’s paper loaded in the tray.
- Check ink levels and replace any low or empty cartridges.
Restart Devices:
- Restart your printer.
- Restart your computer.
Software and Driver Checks
Set as Default Printer:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Find your HP OfficeJet 5255 in the list, click on it, and select Manage.
- Click Set as default.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for the OfficeJet 5255.
- Install the drivers and follow the on-screen instructions.
Reinstall Printer:
- Remove the printer from Printers & scanners.
- Reinstall the printer using the HP Smart app or by adding it manually.
Print Spooler and Connectivity
Check Print Spooler Service:
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Locate Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.
Check Printer Queue:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Click on your printer and select Open queue.
- Clear any pending print jobs.
Check Connectivity:
- Ensure that your printer is connected to the correct network if using Wi-Fi.
- If using a USB connection, check the cable and port.
Additional Troubleshooting
Run the Printer Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
- Select Printer and run the troubleshooter.
Check for Firmware Updates: Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Visit the HP support website to see if there are any firmware updates available for your printer.
HP Smart App:
- Open the HP Smart app, if installed, and check for any issues or prompts.
