Product: HP LaserJet Pro MFP M227fdw

Changed to new 30X cartridge and pages are printing out with repeated marks down the left and right sides of each sheet.  Checked drum, seems fine, no errors.  How to fix this or is it a bad cartridge?   It was not bought recently, kept in stock for when printer needed it.  See attached.HP print error.jpg

If they don't go away after several pages are printed you will need to replace the cartridge.

This is a brand new cartridge - $120 - but bought more than a year ago when the previous cartridge was replaced.  I'm supposed to just throw away $120 for another new one?  Doesn't HP stand by its products??
