Product: HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer
Operating System: macOS 12.0 Monterey

Brand new Deskjet 4100e just installed with brand new HP ink cartridges. Less than 10 pages printed including HP setup pages. Prints fine in black but will not print color. MacBook with latest iOS. Any suggestions?

Hi @WarrenJF 

If the printer was stored for long time, maybe the ink cartridges are dry and you need to follow some steps to clean cartridges.

Tried a printhead clean and a clean as per the video.  Also used isopropyl as is often recommended.  Blue and yellow are now working ok but no purple at all.  Online chat with HP resulted in them saying they would replace the cartridge.  But document does not print in any colour - colour doc just prints in black.   So I will have to wait until I have a new colour cartridge.

 

Is there any setting/preset that I am not aware of that needs to be changed in the printer to ensure it can print colour?
